Jesús Becerra Valencia (August 1, 1917 – January 4, 1999) was a Venezuelan-Mexicanprofessional wrestler who was best known as Cyclone Anaya in Texas.

Professional wrestling career

Anaya made his professional wrestling debut in Mexico in 1943. In 1952, Anaya won his first title the NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship defeating Duke Keomuka. Later on, he became a three-time NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Champion.[3]

In 1960, Anaya retired from wrestling due to an injury.[4]

After retiring from wrestling, Anaya founded a chain of restaurants in 1966 in Houston called Cyclone Anaya's

Romeo Anaya (5 April 1946 – 24 December 2015) was a Mexican professional boxer who competed from 1967 to 1980, holding the Lineal and WBAbantamweight titles from 1973 to 1974.[1]

Professional career

Anaya won the Mexico bantamweight title in 1971. He became the world bantamweight champion when he defeated Lineal and WBA bantamweight champion Enrique Pinder of Panama on January 20, 1973.[2] On November 3, 1973, Anaya met Arnold Taylor in a match refereed by Stanley Christodoulou in Johannesburg. Cyclone Anaya started his professional wrestling career at age 17 when he became the Champion of Mexico. Shortly thereafter, he came to the United States and made a dramatic entrance into the pro-wrestling circuit. Cyclone Anaya was a superb wrestler and won numerous awards and thrilled the hearts of millions of fans. He was indeed a Legend!

During this time he met his wife of over 50 years, Carolina – a former Miss Houston. After many championship titles and five children, Cyclone and his family entered the restaurant business in Houston.
