Entertainment Reporter and Critic Bobbie Wygant has spent more than 70 years of her broadcasting career with NBC 5. Bobbie joined NBC 5 two weeks before the station went on the air as WBAP-TV. To quote Bobbie, "they poured me in with the foundation."

Born in Lafayette, Indiana, Bobbie came to Texas with a degree in broadcasting and psychology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

During the early years Bobbie did live game shows, commercials and produced and hosted a live talk show for 16 years. She is noted for her celebrity interviews everyone from Bob Hope to Bradley Cooper.

Bobbie was the first woman in the Southwest to host a general interest talk show and the first broadcaster in the Southwest to present theater and movie reviews on television.  Click here for a look at Bobbie through the years in a NBC DFW Facebook Fan Page Album.

In 2000, Bobbie received the "Critic's Critic Award" from her peer group the National Broadcast Film Critics Association in Los Angeles.

Roberta Frances Wygant (nee Connolly;[1] November 22, 1926 – February 18, 2024) was an American television news reporter, film critic, talk show host, and interviewer who worked for Fort Worth, Texas, television station KXAS-TV (originally known as WBAP-TV) for over 70 years. She was known for her filmed interviews with celebrities.[2]
