Holly Valance - Biography
Nothing can stop Holly Valance from getting what she wants if she sets her mind to it. Having left a career as a teen model to star on Aussie soap Neighbours in 1999, she was still a TV newcomer when she set her sights on a pop career. "If the Spice Girls can do it, why can't I?" she asked three years before her music debut.
Born the elder of two sisters in Melbourne on May 11, 1983, Holly, who also has a half sister, Olympia, was just four when her parents English mum Rachel and Serb-Croat dad Ryko, both former models called it quits. The couple remained the "best of friends", however, and Holly, who described the situation as "like something off a TV show", says: "Everyone just gets on like one big extended happy family."

Holly Rachel Valance was born 11th May 1983 in Melbourne, Australia to parents Rachel Stevens and Ryko Valance (Ryko legally changed his name at 18 from Vukadinovic). Holly's mother is from Southampton, England and her father is Serbian Montenegrin. Both of her parents were models and her father is a musician. Holly modelled from 12 and was signed to the famous Aussie TV soap "Neighbours" from the age of 15. At 19 Holly moved to the UK to pursue music, as she was signed to London Records (Warner) and released 2 successful albums worldwide. "Kiss Kiss", her first single reaching No.1 in the UK & Australia. At 20 she moved to LA full-time for 8 years focussing on film and TV. Holly now resides in London, England with her British entrepreneur husband Nick Candy. They also have a home in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. The couple share 2 daughters Luka and Nova. Holly Rachel Candy (born 11 May 1983 in Melbourne, Australia) better known professionally as Holly Valance, is an Australian model, actress and singer. Valance began her career as Felicity "Flick" Scully in the long-running Australian soap Neighbours in 1999. Valance left the series in 2002 to pursue a music career.
Valance's first single as a recording artist was a cover of Turkish singer Tarkan's "Kiss Kiss" (composed by Turkish "Diva" Sezen Aksu), released in 2002. The song debuted at No. 1 in both the Australian Recording Industry Association and UK Singles Charts charts in April/May 2002. The director's cut version of the music video was notable in that Valance appeared to be dancing naked. She revealed that she was topless but also wearing flesh-coloured underwear. The footage was then digitally retouched adding strategically placed lighting effects. The song was nominated for four ARIA Music Awards.
