Ali ibn Abi Talib (Arabic: عَلِيُّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب, romanized: ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib; c. 600–661 CE) was the cousin and son-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and was the fourth Rashidun caliph who ruled from 656 CE to 661, as well as the first Shia imam. Born to Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib and Fatima bint Asad, young Ali was raised by his elder cousin Muhammad and was among the first to accept his teachings.

Ali played a pivotal role in the early years of Islam when Muslims were severely persecuted in Mecca. After immigration (hijra) to Medina in 622, Muhammad gave his daughter Fatima to Ali in marriage and swore a pact of brotherhood with him. Ali served as Muhammad's secretary and deputy in this period, and was the flag bearer of his army. Numerous sayings of Muhammad praise Ali, the most controversial of which was uttered in 632 at the Ghadir Khumm, "Whoever I am his mawla, this Ali is his mawla." T

His full name is Abu Al-Husayn Muslim ibn Al-Hajjaj ibn Muslim ibn Ward ibn Kushadh Al-Qushairy An-Naysabur. Imam Muslim considered as an outstanding and eminent authority of Hadith. He is one the leading scholars and memorizers of the Prophet’s (S.A.W.) narrations and Hadiths. His Hadith collection “Sahih Muslim” is regarded as one of the two most authentic books of Hadith, alongside Sahih Al-Bukhari.

Imam Muslim’s Birth and Early Life:

Imam Muslim was born in 202 AH (817 CE) or 204 AH (819 CE) or 206 AH (821 CE) in Nishapur, Abbasid province of Khurasan (present day located in Iran). He belonged to a noble Arab tribe called ‘Qushair’. In a family of knowledge and good conduct, for his father was a regular attendant of the circles of knowledge and upright man, and in a town replete with Islamic knowledge, Abu Al-Husayn Muslim grew up stuck on knowledge. Khalifa Ezzat

Khalifa Ezzat was born in upper Egypt where he first received his Islamic education in the Al Azhar Institute. Khalifa completed the memorisation of the Qur'an, at early age. As part of, his prep and secondary school at Al-Azhar in Al Fashn; his early academic life, predominately composed of learning major traditional Islamic doctrines, including, Tafsir, Hadith, Arabic language, Shariah/Fiqh, and Theology. After successfully completing his secondary education, he was nominated and enrolled in Al Azhar University in Cairo to complete his Islamic education.

Education

Khalifa studied at one of the oldest Islamic Institutions in the world, Al Azhar University, Cairo. He was awarded a BA Islamic Studies in English. As part of his degree programme, he also studied English and German. After this, he pursued his career as an Imam in Cairo in 2000. When he moved to the United Kingdom in 2005, he completed his master's degree in Islamic studies at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS),[1] where he received his MA Islamic Studies.
