Orville Bulman (June 6, 1904 - January 4, 1978) was an American businessman-turned-painter. He owned a gallery on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida, and he did over 2,000 paintings over the course of his career.

Early life

Bulman was born on June 6, 1904, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.^[1] His father, E. O. Bulman, was the founder of the E. O. Bulman Manufacturing Company, and the inventor of household gadgets and industrial devices.^[2]

Bulman graduated from Grand Rapids High School.^[3]

Career

Bulman worked as a newspaper cartoonist in Chicago for a year, only to return to Grand Rapids and work for his family businesses, the E. O. Bulman Manufacturing Company and the Bulman Corporation.^[3]^[2] He eventually served as the president of both companies.^[1]^[2]

Bulman subsequently moved to Palm Beach, Florida, where he owned a gallery on Worth Avenue via Parigi.^[3] He did many paintings of the fauna and flora of Haiti, where he had lived in the 1950s,

Orville Bulman, a self-taught mid-twentieth century modern artist, was born in 1904 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A year later his father, Elvah O. Bulman, invented what was to become a long line of ingenious products, a twine holder and dispenser. Subsequently, Elvah (or E. O. as he was called) continued to create dispensers and cutters for virtually all goods that could be rolled up. Before long, the Bulman Paper Cutter became de rigueur for any self-respecting grocery or dry goods establishment in the early 1900s. Bulman was expected to carry on the hugely successful family business, which dutifully, he did. After graduating from Grand Rapids Central High School, however, he traveled to Chicago for one year to work as a newspaper cartoonist before entering the business world.

While helping his father run the company, Bulman's true artistic calling was too loud for him to ignore. After devoting himself to the corporation in the twenties and thirties, he exhibited at New York's Society of Independent Artists in 1937 and for a short
