We need someone, we need someone at this moment. At this point, you need to speak, you need to talk about your feelings. Cesar Millan: The Dog 'Whisperer'?
Cesar Millan has become a household name in the world of dog training and millions of television viewers tune in to his show every week.
It is undeniable that the Dog Whisperer TV show oozes Millan's charm and charismatic appearance, and the use of smoke machines and soft focus lenses only helps to increase the cinematic appeal of the program but controversy grows as many professional dog psychologists, trainers, behaviourists and canine experts claim that Millan's archaic use of choke collars and physical and mental force borders on animal abuse and cruelty.
This article will attempt to address the issues raised by such critiques of Millan's methods, in order to find out whether Millan is a true canine genius, or just a phenomenally successful example of corporate American marketing strategies. Cesar Millan was born on August 27th, 1969. A native of Culiacan, in Mexico, he lived on his parent's farm in Ixpalino. His parents were poor and Millan grew up without television or any of the things that are enjoyed by youngsters today. M

Cesar Millan
From impoverished illegal immigrant, to celebrity dog trainer, to international superstar.
César Millan was born in 1969 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Living at his grandfather's farm Cesar grew up working with animals with the dream to become the best dog trainer in the world.
In December of 1990, 21-year-old Cesar illegally crossed the border from Mexico into California. He did not speak English or knew anyone and spent his first couple months homeless on the streets of San Diego. He got a grooming and walker dog job and soon got a reputation for his abilities. After saving a few dollars he moved to Los Angeles and kept his job dog walker now having celebrities’ clients including Jada Pinkett Smith who became one of his biggest supporters.
At a vacant parking lot he started a freelance dog rehabilitation service for dogs that became the Dog Psychology Center, today 43-acre site in the Santa Clarita Valley.
