Chakib Benmoussa (Arabic: شكيب بن موسى) (born 1958, Fes) is a Moroccan diplomat and politician. He previously served as the interior minister of Morocco^[1]^[2] and has been the lead negotiator for the Moroccan side in the Western Sahara conflict.^[3] Since December 2012, he is serving as the Moroccan ambassador to France.^[4] Between October 7, 2021 and November 12, 2024, he had served as the education and sports minister.^[5]

Education

Benmoussa was born in Fes. He graduated from École Polytechnique of Paris, one of the most selective engineering schools in France, in 1979 and from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris in 1981 and a holder of Master of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).^[6]

Career

Between 1989 and 1995 he worked as an executive at the Ministry of Equipment and Transportation, then as the secretary general of the prime minister (1995–98) and president of SONASID (1998-2000), a state-owned steel company

Chakib Benmoussa besitzt ein Ingenieurdiplom der École polytechnique von Paris (1979) und der École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées von Paris (1981) und ein DESS des ISCAE und einen "Master of Science" des Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Chakib Benmoussa ist verheiratet und Vater zweier Kinder.

Eingenommene Funktionen

Chakib Benmoussa hat verschiedene Funktionen eingenommen.

Von 1981 bis 1983 war er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter des Flüssigkeitendynamiklabors (MIT).

Chakib Benmoussa ist seit 2000 Mitglied des Exekutivkomitees der Groupe ONA. Am 11. Dezember 2002 schließlich, ist er zum Wali, Generalsekretär des Innenministeriums ernannt worden. Dann wurde er durch eine Regierungsumbildung als Nachfolger Mostapha Sahels Innenminister.
